WIT Studio, the famous studio behind titles like Attack on Titan (Seasons 1-3) and SPY x FAMILY (alongside CloverWorks), is producing a new short anime series in collaboration with Google Play titled Google Play de Cho Muso?! Tensei Shitara Android User Datta (Overpowered on Google Play?! Reincarnated as an Android User).
The series launched on June 16, 2025, and will release new 15-second episodes weekly until July 21. Each episode will be available on Google Play’s official YouTube channel and X (formerly Twitter) account.
The story follows a gamer who suddenly finds himself reincarnated into the “Google Play World,” where gaming is highly revered. Equipped with his Android smartphone, Ando experiences a series of events that every gamer dreams of. The anime includes the voice cast of Daiki Yamashita as the protagonist Ando, Shiori Izawa as Guma, and Marina Inoue as Nekomaru. The theme song, “Insomnia,” is performed by Eve.
Yasuhiro Akamatsu directs the series, having previously worked on Attack on Titan as an episode director. Masaaki Yuasa contributed to the visual concept, with KURO as the character designer. You can watch the first episode titled “The Birth of the Gamer’s Dream Room!” below.
