Hulu announced in its lineup for next month that Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods will begin streaming on the platform on September 26. Released in 2013, the anime movie by Toei Animation was the first theatrical release in nearly two decades, opening up the Dragon Ball plotline to include the Gods of Destruction that formed the basis of the popular Dragon Ball Super anime and manga series.

In addition to Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods debuting on Hulu, Hulu confirmed four HIDIVE titles heading to the platform next month, chief among them, Food Wars! The Second Plate, in English subbed and dubbed. A further four HIDIVE anime premiered on Hulu in August, including Oshi no Ko Season 2.
As Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods heads to streaming on Hulu, Crunchyroll announced Blu-ray SteelBook editions for one of its eventual successors, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, among several others, for November 2025. You can check out the full list of anime Blu-rays dropping this November here.

World’s First DRAGON BALL STORE to Open in Tokyo in Fall 2025

For the first time, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods will debut its extended 105-minute cut in European theaters later this year. Piece of Magic (PoM) will be distributing the extended cut. Daisuke Nishio directed Battle of Gods at Toei Animation, which PoM describes:
Following the events from the Dragon Ball Z television series, after the defeat of Majin Buu, a new power awakens and threatens humanity… Beerus, an ancient and powerful God of Destruction, searches for Goku after hearing rumours of the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza.
Realizing the threat Beerus poses to their home planet, the Z-Fighters must find a way to stop him before it’s too late. Only Goku, humanity’s last hope, can ascend to the level of a legendary Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus from destroying Earth, and possibly the entire universe!
