The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch manga is getting a TV anime adaptation, premiering in 2026. A teaser visual, trailer, and the main cast and staff have also been revealed. Studio LIDENFILMS is animating.

Kaede Hondo stars as the main character Spica Virgo, a cheerful and optimistic witch apprentice aiming to become a First-Class Magician. Meanwhile, Nobunaga Shimazaki is voicing the other protagonist, Claude Sirius, a magician who was transformed into a cat by a curse. The comments of both cast members have also been revealed.
Kaede Hondo’s comment:
I’m Kaede Hondo, and I’ll be playing Spica. When I first had the chance to voice her in the promotional video, I was so struck by the charm of this story that I genuinely hoped I would get to portray Spica again someday. I’m overjoyed that this series will be getting an anime adaptation, and I’m so happy that I can continue to be a part of it . Please look forward to the anime!
Nobunaga Shimazaki’s comment:
I never imagined I’d be entrusted with a role that combines both the position of teacher and the series’ mascot. It makes me feel that maybe, in my own way, I’ve managed to garner enough experience to be worthy of the role, and I’m truly happy and honored. I’m excited to take on this role and help create a fun classroom for everyone with Claude. Please look forward to the anime!
Naomasa Tatsuwa is directing the anime with Midori Goto in charge of the series composition and Takayuki Onoda illustrating character designs.
