This follows Warner Bros. Japan’s reveal of the new STEEL BALL RUN teaser trailer and character visuals, revealing new cast members, including Shogo Sakata as Johnny Joestar and Yohei Azakami as Gyro Zeppeli. While STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure‘s release date of March 19, 2026, is relatively uncommon, given the Spring 2026 anime season usually kicks off towards the end of March and throughout April, Netflix released Stone Ocean (Season 5/Part 6) on December 1, 2021—around 3–4 weeks before the Winter 2022 season typically begins. Notably, Netflix lists the same release date for both the U.S. and Japan, unlike its release of The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, which debuted on July 6 in Japan and whose metadata confirmed a September 7 release in the U.S.

It adapts the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki’s original JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga. (It’s the anime’s sixth season.) The anime’s official synopsis reads:
It’s 1890, in America, the Steel Ball Run — the first horse racing championship across the North American continent — was about to begin. Spanning around 4,000 miles, the race offered 50 million dollars as the winning prize.
Johnny Joestar, once being hailed as a genius jockey, is now paralysed and lost in despair.
He finds hope in the mysterious phenomena caused by Gyro Zeppeli, an outlaw aiming to win the race, and determines to participate in the Steel Ball Run Race.
Each having their own goal in mind, the two form an alliance and set foot upon the gruelling adventure and race.
