The new Ronin Warriors (Armor Legend Samurai Troopers) sequel anime revealed a super teaser trailer, introducing the voice cast without revealing their names. The anime was announced in June this year, and it’s set to return over 37 years since the original.
The sequel anime will be set in present-day Shinjuku and feature a brand-new original story with a new generation of Samurai Troopers. Hiro Ichibashi was previously confirmed as voice of the protagonist, Gai, who wears the Armor of Inferno. The character is described:
14 years old. Discovered to have the qualities of a Samurai Trooper, he dons the Armor of Inferno and fights against the Youja (demon clan). His sense of taste differs from that of ordinary people, and he prefers unusual flavors.
The remaining four Samurai Troopers have been teased with character silhouettes and the initials of their voice cast:
- Suiren (Waterfall)→ A.M
- Koya (Wilderness) → S.T
- Sokyu (Azure Sky) → J.E
- Senko (Flash of Light) → K.K

The original anime aired from April 30, 1988, to March 4, 1989, ending with a total of 39 episodes. There was also a manga adaptation, which was serialized on Kodansha’s Comic BomBom from November 1988 to April 1990.

Long ago, there existed an evil spirit that waged a war to conquer the human world. Defeat drove him back to the realm of darkness, but not before vowing to return and exact his revenge. A thousand years later, the world has all but forgotten the name of Arago, Emperor of Doom. When black clouds smother the bright city lights of Shinjuku, and a sinister laugh drowns out the dying hum of electricity, the people of the world plunge into terror, unprepared for the evil spirit’s return!
Another anime returning after over 3 decades is CAT’S EYE, which is set to have a remake starting in September this year, 40 years since its original anime released its final episode in 1985.
