Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise anime film based on WW2 revealed a new trailer and key visual ahead of its December 5, 2025 premiere in Japan. Studio Shin-Ei Animation (The Dangers in My Heart) is handling the animation production alongside studio Fugaku.
The movie adaptation will release on the 80th anniversary of the end of the second World War, which ended in September 1945. The story is based on the historical Battle of Peleliu which took place during World War II. It is set on Peleliu Island, an important battleground during the Pacific War. It shows the struggles of young Japanese soldiers sent to the island, where out of 10,000 troops, only 34 survived.
Rihito Itagaki will voice the gentle, manga-artist-aspiring protagonist Hitoshi Tamaru, while Tomoya Nakamura will voice his comrade-in-arms, Kasuke Yoshiki. You can see the two characters in the new visual below.
