Today at Anime Expo it was announced that anime YouTube pioneer and Trash Taste podcaster Gigguk has created his own isekai anime. The anime, Baan -The Boundaries of Adulthood-, was announced during a GeeXPlus, Inc. panel featuring Gigguk and other creators whose series are being spotlighted as part of GeeXPlus’ new GeeXProductions division, which aims to create creator-centered, YouTube first projects in the animation space.

Baan is set in the fictional world of Euthania, with the means of travel to it being a warp gate located in Japan. The world is heavily influenced by Southeast Asian and Thai mythology. The story follows two protagonists who leave their birthplaces in search of a place where they truly belong. Yoshimitsu Ohashi, known for directing CODE GEASS Rozé of the Recapture, is directing the series. Kevin Penkin, known for incredibly impressive soundtracks from anime like Made in Abyss, is composing music.
Studio Daisy is in charge of the animation. The anime will premiere in Japan at Grand Cinema Sunshine in August, and will later be released on Gigguk’s YouTube channel along with a behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the anime.

Exclusive merch from Gigguk’s new project and works from other GeeXPlus talent is available for purchase at Anime Expo booth WH-634 or via online pre-order. To stay up to date with GeeXProductions and upcoming projects, visit geexplus.co.jp or Twitter.
