The previously announced anime adaptation of Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!? revealed a visual and trailer along with the main cast and staff. The animation is handled by TMS Entertainment/Studio 6, and the series is slated to premiere in 2026.
The anime stars:
- Sho Komura as Takuya Seo
- Konomi Inagaki as Kei Amane
- Yu Serizawa as Kotoko Ijichi
Mita Arata is directing the series with Inukai Kazuhiko doing the series composition and Lion Matsuda is doing character designs. The anime is based on a manga by Norishiro-chan (author) and Sakana Uozumi (manga illustrator).
Yen Press is licensing the manga in English, and the first volume is set to release on October 28, 2025. They describe the story as follows:
Meet Takuya Seo, an otaku who sits behind the popular gals in class, Ijichi and Amane. As people from different “castes”, you wouldn’t expect them to have much in common. But when their worlds collide over a borrowed eraser, Takuya slips up about his favorite anime, and Amane…is rather quick to correct him. She says she’s not a fan, but her familiarity with the series suggests otherwise. Could she be…a fellow geek?!
