From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman is officially getting a Season 2 in 2026, revealing the first teaser trailer. Studios Passione and Hayabusa Film were behind the animation for the anime, which concluded its first season today. It is streaming exclusively on Prime Video.

From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman – Season 2 Announcement Trailer

The story follows Beryl Gardinant. He calls himself a humble old man, and he is a sword instructor at his dojo in a backwater village. One day, he is visited by a former student who has since become a famous figure, and he ends up appointed as a special instructor for the knights of the Liberion Order. He then meets up with several other former students, who include an elite knight, an ace wizard, and an adventurer who’s attained the highest guild rank possible. He isn’t aware why they asked for him, and he ends up living a new different life.

The first season of the From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman anime was directed by Yoshio Kazumi, with Kunihiko Okada in charge of the series composition, Satsuki Hayasaka as the character designer and chief animation director, and Yasuhari Takanashi composing the music. The main voice cast for the anime includes:

  • Yuki Hirose as Curuni Cruceiel
  • Hitomi Ueda as Surena Lysandra
