Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc released a teaser for the announcement of its ending theme song “JANE DOE” by Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada. The anime movie is set to premiere in Japan on September 19, with international release dates beginning from September 24. It will premiere in U.S. theaters on October 29, 2025.

Studio MAPPA is in charge of the animation, with Tatsuya Yoshihara taking over as director from Season 1’s Ryu Nakayama. The news arrived during a panel by MAPPA at Anime Expo 2025. Additional cast additions include:

  • Hidenori Takahashi as Division 2 Vice Captain
  • Kenji Akabane as Nomo
  • Kenji Nomura as the “mysterious man”
  • Eri Kitamura as Typhoon Devil

The main trailer for the anime was recently revealed, and you can check that out below.

Among the returning anime staff from Season 1 are Masato Nakazono as an assistant director (was chief episode director), Hiroshi Seko as the screenwriter, Kazutaka Sugiyama as the character designer and Kensuke Ushio as the music composer. The latest visual was recently revealed, teasing the battle between Denji and Bomb Girl.

Tatsuki Fujimoto writes and draws the Chainsaw Man manga, which has been split into two parts: the second part has been ongoing since July 2023. MangaPLUS app is publishing it in English: all chapters are available to read for free while using the app. Viz Media is in charge of physical releases.

MAPPA channel describes the plot of The Reze Arc movie as:
Denji became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.
