Are You a Jirai Girl, Chihara-san? manga series by Ryon is getting an anime adaptation in 2026. A teaser visual and the main cast and staff information were also announced. Studio SynergySP is animating.
Sayumi Suzushiro is voicing the titular character, Mai Chihara, while Kazuki Ura will voice the other main character, Kuroki. Both voice cast members previously voiced their respective characters from the voice comic adaptation. Yasuaki Fuji is directing the anime with Keiichiro Ochi handling the series composition. Majiro is in charge of the character designs, while Alisa Okehzama is composing the music.
The story follows the plain-looking student Kuroki, who is classmates with the Chihara, a girl with a “landmine” look. Over time, Mai shows her true personality to Kuroki, which is far from the rumors about her.
Ryon launched the manga on Comic Smart’s Ganma! website in June 2021 and currently has 7 volumes in circulation. Additionally, the manga author and anime character designer released commemorative illustrations:
