The post quickly went viral, racking up over 200k likes and 8.6 million views in just 4 hours. Before this, Togashi’s last update was in late December, where he shared that he had made an error in Chapter 410 and would correct it in the volume edition. He added that it seemed that he could return to desk work, which is notable given his chronic back pain.

In the lead-up to his last run of serialization from October to December 2024, Togashi had been regularly providing workflow updates on social media, leading to a sense of renewed confidence among the fan base about Hunter x Hunter‘s long-term future. While his return lasted 2 months, he did announce that he was in the process of confirming the dialogue and timeline for the next 50 chapters. The series released its 410th chapter on December 8.

VIZ publishes the Hunter x Hunter manga, releasing 37 of the total 38 volumes in English. The series is available to read on MANGA Plus and the Shonen Jump app. The first volume is described:
Gon might be a country boy, but he has high aspirations. Despite his Aunt Mito’s protests, Gon decides to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a legendary Hunter. The Hunter hopefuls begin their journey by storm-tossed ship, where Gon meets Leorio and Kurapika, the only other applicants who aren’t devastated by bouts of seasickness.

Having survived the terrors of the high seas, Gon and his companions now have to prove their worth in a variety of tests in order to find the elusive Exam Hall. And once they get there, will they ever leave alive…?“
