Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME revealed a new trailer, along with confirming an August 31 launch date on iOS and Android. The game recently officially surpassed 500,000 global pre-registrations, bringing numerous rewards for the players. The next milestone of 850,000 pre-registrations will unlock an additional reward, “[Blade Specialist] Soshiro Hoshina.”
The game was recently previewed during Anime Expo 2025, where visitors were able to play an early demo. It previously confirmed original content, including new characters and story. You can see the new characters, including Kikoru’s sister, in the new trailer below.
Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is co-developed by Akatsuki Games, TOHO, and Production I.G. The title is described as a cinematic, turn-based battle RPG that includes both familiar characters from the manga and anime as well as original storylines created for the game. You can see the new visual below.
The Kaiju No. 8 manga has over 18 million copies printed and distributed in Japan, including digital editions, over a total of 15 volumes. The manga ended last month with Chapter 129. Its anime adaptation premiered in 2024 and has since grown in international popularity, with the second season streaming since July 19, 2025.
