The planned anime adaptation of Sono Keisatsukan, Tokidoki Yaju (That Policeman, Sometimes a Beast) adult manga has officially been cancelled. The announcement was posted on August 4 via the series’ official website and social media channels.

In a statement released by the production committee, the team cited “various circumstances” as the reason behind the decision:

“Although production had been underway for a 2025 broadcast, due to various circumstances, we have made the decision to cancel the TV anime project. We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were looking forward to it and to everyone involved in the production.”

The anime was first announced in March 2025 and had already revealed staff details. It was being produced by Rabbit Gate, with a premiere initially scheduled for later this year.

The original manga, written and illustrated by Sigma Torai, is a popular teens’ love (TL) series serialized online via Comic Seymour under Ichijinsha’s LOVEBITES label. The story follows Hiyori, a regular office worker recovering from an injury, and Kumano, a police officer who steps in to help, with his darker impulses beginning to surface.

First serialized in 2019, the manga has been collected in ten volumes as of April 1, 2025.
