Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc Chapter 1: Akaza’s Return has continued to break box office records in Japan, grossing 17.63 billion yen (approximately 119.5 million USD) in the first 17 days. The film has sold a total of 12,558,582 tickets in that time.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account issued a thank you message to all the people who went to watch it:
“We are sincerely grateful to the 12.5 million people who have come to see the film. Despite the ongoing heat, we deeply thank each individual who made the trip to the theater.”
The film premiered on July 18 in Japan, reaching over 12.8 billion yen in revenue within its first ten days. It went deeper into the Infinity Castle Arc, which began when the Demon Slayers were thrown into Muzan’s castle. Following its domestic debut, it is scheduled to launch internationally between August 14 and September 25, 2025.

The movie was confirmed for a 155-minute runtime (2h35m), and opened in the highest number of Japanese theaters in the franchise’s history. You can also see the latest key visual below.

In related news, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Chronicles 2 launched in Japan on August 1, and it is scheduled for a global release on August 5, 2025. It will be available for PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
