Set to be “one of the most widely-available new anime of 2025,” the anime will be available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Prime Video. Yura Urushibara writes and draws the TOUGEN ANKI manga series, which has been serialized in AKITASHOTEN’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine since 2020. The manga has sold over 7 million copies in Japan so far. It draws inspiration from the Japanese folktale Momotaro, centering on a conflict between two bloodlines: the oni (demon) descendants and the heirs of Momotaro.
The story follows protagonist Shiki Ichinose, who learns of his demon ancestry after being attacked by members of the Momotaro faction. This then sets him on a path to uncover his inner powers and the legacy of the Oni. Studio HIBARI is animating.
