Netflix to Stream Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 in Select Regions of Asia

Netflix has announced that Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 will be coming to the platform in select regions of Asia on July 19. The announcement follows the reveal of the main trailer for the anime, which also introduced the opening song “You Can’t Run From Yourself” by AURORA.

Production I.G is in charge of the animation, with Studio Khara credited for the creature designs. Crunchyroll confirmed that it will stream the anime as part of its Summer 2025 lineup, while it will also be streaming worldwide on X (formerly Twitter) from July 19.

Netflix revealed an English version of the main visual:

The main voice cast for the Kaiju No. 8 anime includes Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8, Wataru Kato as Reno Ichikawa, Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, Kengo Kawanishi as Soshiro Hoshina, Tessho Genda as Isao Shinomiya, and Koki Uchiyama as Gen Narumi.

The newest cast additions include Hiroki Yasumoto as Hasegawa and Kana Hanazawa as Rin.

Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform, and a total of 15 volumes has been published as of March. The manga series is officially set to end in two more chapters. Viz Media is publishing it in English.

The game adaptation of the franchise, Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, will show its first demo next month at Anime Expo 2025. The game has reached over 300,000 pre-registrations globally, and is set to launch later in 2025.
