Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 has revealed the main trailer, introducing the new opening theme song ahead of the anime show’s July 19 premiere. The announcement was teased yesterday with a screenshot of Gen Narumi, “Japan’s Strongest Anti-Kaiju Combatant,” who we’ll finally meet properly in the new season.
Production I.G is again handling the animation, with Studio Khara in charge of the creature designs. Crunchyroll confirmed that it will stream the anime as part of its Summer 2025 lineup, while it will also be streaming worldwide on X (formerly Twitter).
The new opening song is titled “You Can’t Run From Yourself,” and you hear a preview in the action-packed new trailer below.
The main voice cast for the Kaiju No. 8 anime includes Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8. We had the opportunity to talk with Fukunishi at last year’s Anime Expo, where he shared his experience voicing Kafka. He is supported by Wataru Kato as Reno Ichikawa, Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, Kengo Kawanishi as Soshiro Hoshina, and Tessho Genda as Isao Shinomiya. Koki Uchiyama voices Gen.
